You can request morning or afternoon sessions or a combination of both, with or without lunch club or a full day session. We also provide breakfast and after-school club facilities. You may also purchase further unfunded sessions, in addition to your 15 hours, which will be invoiced at the rates shown above.
You may qualify for an additional 15 hours if you are a working parent. Please refer to the website www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to confirm your eligibility. The additional 15 hours is a joint one with the Tax.
Tax Free Childcare – please see www.childcare.tax.service.gov.uk for further details.
Your child may qualify for 2 year old funding. Please contact your local children’s centre for more information.
If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to ask. We are able to accommodate up to 34 children from the age of 2 up to school entry age. We always maintain an excellent child/staff ratio which is always in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2014).

Fees and Deposit

Sherwood Preschool wants to have a positive and supportive relationship with all parents and carers. This does depend on parents meeting their financial obligations. Sometimes, parents do find themselves in financial difficulties. If this happens, it is important that you speak to Lisa or Jade without delay. Trustees will then consider your circumstances and do what they can to support you.

It is important that all parents are aware of the fees and payment system operating at Sherwood. These are set out below.

General

Once you have been offered a place at Sherwood Preschool, you must sign a contract registration form and pay a £30 non-refundable deposit to secure a place for your child.

Sherwood Preschool is open Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. for 38 weeks a year. Preschool-funded hours are from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm, five days a week. If you wish to book your child for breakfast or an after-school club, it will be at an additional cost for each session.

All fees are due and payable one month in advance by standing order, cash or childcare vouchers/tax-free childcare scheme. Parents must give four weeks’ notice of termination of the contract.

Non-attendance, sickness & Holidays

Fees are payable during periods of sickness, family holidays and bank holidays.

Preschool Late Collection fee

If you are late collecting your child from preschool, you will be charged the appropriate Afterschool Club fee. You must telephone to inform us that you will be late and when you expect to arrive.

Afterschool late collection fee

If you collect your child after 6.15 pm, you will be charged £10 for every 10 minutes you are late. You must contact us to inform us you will be late. We have the right to contact social services when this problem occurs.

Outstanding Fees

Invoice payments must be made in full and in advance before the 8th working day of the month. Late payments will incur a fine of £10.

Parents will be issued with a reminder invoice, statement of fees and a letter asking for payment to be made within seven days of the date of the letter.

Please comply with this requirement to avoid a second letter; this will inform parents who fail to meet their financial obligations that their child can only attend their government-funded hours.

Parents of children who attend Breakfast and Afterschool Clubs, who receive a second letter, will be informed that their child will no longer have a place at these Clubs.

If payment is still in arrears after receiving two further reminder letters, the child’s placement at Sherwood Preschool will be terminated, and the outstanding balance – if not settled immediately – will be referred to a debt collection agency.

If you are struggling to pay your fees for whatever reason, please speak to Lisa or Jade.
