Thank you to all of our parents and carers who have given a small donation on our Children in Need day. Our dress up day for it was a success! We managed to raise £40.95
Thursday 8th December
Christmas sing along
On Thursday 8th December Parents are invited to watch their child take part in Sherwood Christmas sing along. We will be inviting parents into the preschool from 1pm.You are welcome to stay after for a tea and cake. If your child does not attend preschool that day and you would like them to take part, please can you drop them off at 12.30, so we can get them ready. If your child just attends the morning session they are welcome to stay, please let us know and bring in a packed lunch on the day. Friday 16th December – Christmas Party Day
Friday 16th December is our Christmas party day! We will be open between 11.00am until 2pm only. Please bring your child to preschool in party clothes at 11.00am and come back at 2pm.
Sherwood will provide lunch for children on party day, you do not have to pack your child a packed lunch.
At 2pm, Father Christmas will be arriving to see the children with their parents. Once you have seen Father Christmas, then it is time to go home. We hope to have a few stalls while waiting for Father Christmas so that parents can buy small gifts and treats so bring some change! Details on the stalls will be posted on our Facebook page nearer the time.
Christmas Raffle
This year, we have a Christmas raffle! Tickets are £1 a strip. Please speak to a member of staff if you would like to buy raffle tickets, the raffle will be drawn on Friday 16th December, during our party.
Healthy Eating at Sherwood
At Sherwood, we aim to provide a healthy environment for the children which also includes healthy eating. Please make sure your child’s packed lunch includes a balanced meal with NO sweets or chocolate. We are also unable to allow nuts in the setting due to allergies.
Can we please also make sure that grapes are cut vertically to prevent children from choking.
Wet Weather Play
We are going through a period of very wet weather which will continue over the coming months. Please ensure your child has appropriate footwear such as wellies, waterproof coats and puddle suits if you have them. Wellies can be left on your child’s peg at all times to ensure they are available as we do use the gardens in most weathers. Please label ALL clothing and footwear that is brought to the setting to avoid confusion.
Parents Meetings
On the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th and 7th December, we will be holding parent meetings. Please look out for times you are able to book a slot with your keyworker.
