Hi I’m Jade my passion was always to work in a nursery and I have worked at Sherwood for 16 years. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, friends and puppy. I have 2 young daughters who love days out. I also enjoy listening to music and shopping.

Hi! I'm Emma! I have been a member of the Sherwood team since 2009 and I have been afterschool supervisor for around 8 years. I have 3 children, ranging from 3-22 years. I love spending time with family and good friends. I enjoy going for long country walks, cooking and DIY when I have time.

Hello I’m Vidya. I’ve known Sherwood since 2013, when my daughter started preschool there and then my son, after that. For the past 7 years, I’ve been working at Sherwood Preschool as a preschool practitioner. I was born in Mauritius, a very multicultural and tropical island, where I’ve learned different languages like French, Hindi and Creole. My hobbies are cooking, nature walks and spending quality times with family. I’m a very big fan of Marvels and DC films.

My name is Mobina Mirza and I have been with Sherwood Preschool since 2014, before this I worked for the Home Office for 23 years. I am married and gave two teenage boys.
Emma Bailey
I have recently joined the wonderful team at Sherwood where I am settling in nicely. I have three children of my own and have always had an interest in child development and how the early years shape the rest of your life. I am looking forward to developing my knowledge further. Sherwood allows me to work with a very diverse group of children and families from different backgrounds, ages and stages. It’s great to work in a place where every child is treated as a unique individual, and the love and concern from the team towards them is genuine. On a personal level, I enjoy drawing and crafting.

I've worked at Sherwood Preschool for four years, during which I've assisted young people in learning the fundamentals of academics and encouraged them to be creative and curious about their surroundings. DAVID MATTHEWS
David Matthews was headteacher of St Andrew’s School, Croydon when, in collaboration with Howard School and others, he established The Hive a local, educational charity. In 2014. The Hive took over the running of The Mulberry Pre-School, turning it into the successful pre-school that is now Sherwood. David retired from teaching in 2015. His first novel, That They Might Lovely Be, was published in 2017. He now lives in Ipswich where he is currently Chair of Trustees of Essex and Suffolk Children’s University and churchwarden of St Mary le Tower, Ipswich’s civic church. He continues to visit Croydon regularly.
